We recently completed our final Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project at Kingswood Parks Primary in Hull. Working alongside Sewell Construction and holding regular meetings with both the school and local council, we designed, supplied and installed all of the fitted and loose furniture, which includes a nursery and an early years section and will cater for 315 pupils in when it opens for the first time on the 8th September 2014.
This particular project was quite unique for Claughtons, as the work was completed before the school had appointed any teaching staff, as David Claughton, Director, comments:
“We are delighted to see Kingswood Parks Primary School finished and ready for the students. The area has been crying out for a dedicated Primary School for some time so it’s quite a milestone for the local community. We developed close working relationships with everyone involved in the project, particularly the Sewell Group and the council, to ensure we delivered their vision.
“We supplied our Juno range of furniture, which is ideal for Primary Schools, and fitted out a wide range of facilities including classrooms, play areas and staff rooms. It has been fantastic to see the school take shape ready for the start of its first term - we hope the students enjoy using their new, state of the art school for years to come.”
Mark Boothby, Construction Manager for Sewell Construction, comments:
“We worked with Claughtons on the Kingswood Parks Primary School project where they were contracted to provide the fixed furniture and equipment (FF&E) for the new school whilst also managing the FF&E budget for the project. They were very proactive, bringing a wealth of experience to the project and suggesting different solutions to the school users ‘preferred layouts during design development and whilst the installation took place. We found the team on site to be very amenable and efficient in their work ensuring our programme was met on time and in a safe manner.”
