St. Wilfrid’s Catholic Sixth Form College needed a more attractive, inviting place for their students to work, learn and socialise. After an initial presentation and consultation with Claughtons, they chose us to design, build and supply their brand new furniture.
The aim for St. Wilfrid’s was to create an environment where their students could spend their own time to work, as well as to relax and socialise between lessons, as Nigel Green, Business Development Manager at Claughtons, explains: “Because the college was lacking in these kinds of facilities, they were struggling to encourage their students to spend more of their free time there working or socialising.
“So we worked closely with the college, their architects, Aedas, and the construction firm, RSR Construction, to design inviting layouts and different types of furniture for their rooms and breakout areas, including various shapes of tables, modular seating, reception desks and storage.”
St. Wilfrid’s now has modern, comfortable work and social areas for their sixth form students.
Kevin Walsh, Deputy Business Manager at St. Wilfrid’s, comments: “After seeing what other projects Claughtons had been involved in, the quality of their furniture and the fresh ideas they came up with, we knew that we wanted to work with them on this project.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the results, and it’s had such a positive impact on both our staff and students.”
Nigel Green added: “On the first day the new college opened, the students were already starting to spend their own time in the sixth form to work and use the new facilities. So it’s good to know that it’s working already and continues to make a big difference.”
